AMDRAS Advanced Mediator Application – Eligibility Check

Before starting, please make sure you are using the correct form.

Step 1: Check your current accreditation

👉 If you would like to transfer to Mediation Institute, please complete the Transfer Application Process before submitting your Advanced Mediator Application.

⚠️ To avoid complications, always transfer first, then apply for a different level of accreditation.

Step 2: Membership check

If you are a Mediation Institute Member, confirm this is the correct form:

  • Have you been nationally accredited for at least 4 years and passed 2 renewal cycles?
    ✅ Yes – Continue.
    ❌ No – You are not eligible for Advanced Accreditation yet.

Step 3: Renewal timing

  • Is your renewal due?
    ✅ Yes – Apply for Advanced Mediator Accreditation as part of your normal renewal process using the Renewal Form.
    ❌ No – Use this Advanced Mediator Application form to upgrade mid-term.

Step 4: Practice requirements

  • Do you declare (and can you evidence) at least 150 hours of mediation practice since you were first accredited?
    ✅ Yes – Continue.
    You may be asked to provide a detailed log (while protecting client confidentiality) if audited.
    ❌ No – You are not yet eligible. Please keep a log and reapply once requirements are met.

Step 5: Practicum Certificate

  • Do you hold a Practicum Certificate?
    ✅ Yes – You must provide a copy with your application.
    ❌ No – You may complete the AMDRAS Practicum Certificate Course.

OR

  • If you hold (or are seeking) an Alternative Pathway Certificate, this may also be acceptable.

✅ If you answered “Yes” at each step, you may now continue with the AMDRAS Advanced Mediator Application.

AMDRAS - Advanced Mediator Application (mid term)

Application for Advanced Mediator Accreditation through Mediation Institute. Please ensure you are logged in before completing this form.

The National Mediator Accreditation System (NMAS) was phased out and fully replaced by the Australian Mediator and Dispute Resolution Accreditation Standards (AMDRAS) on the 1st July 2025.

Mediation Institute is a Recognised Accreditation Provider (RAP) under AMDRAS and this form is to allow you to apply for Advanced Mediator Accreditation under the standards

By submitting this application for Mediator Accreditation Practitioner Membership, you authorise Mediation Institute to seek information from any party noted on your application and/or supporting documents or an authorised representative of the AMDRAS Board (if relevant).

If your application is complete and meets the requirements, we will finalise the processing and issue your updated Membership Certificate and the Advanced Mediator Logo.
