Power Imbalances in Mediation and How the Mediator Can Deal with Them
Power imbalances are among the most common challenges mediators face, testing the boundary between protecting fairness and preserving neutrality. This session examines various forms of imbalance, including information asymmetries, sophistication disparities, and financial pressure. Suitable for mediators at any stage of practice, the session will leave participants with a toolkit of process-based interventions and a clearer sense of when intervention has gone far enough.
