Like any profession, mediation is based on established principles, processes and practices. We train in one of several possible approaches and learn that the process will carry us through from the mediator’s introduction to a possible settlement of whatever the parties are at odds about.
As we mature in this work and gain experience, it can be useful to explore possibilities outside the constraints of the 'standard' process. In this presentation, I will offer examples and discussion around such possibilities.
