You can use this form if you are currently AMDRAS accredited or are on a Leave of Absence and would like to transfer your national accreditation to Mediation Institute as your accrediting body.

Application to transfer your AMDRAS Mediator Accreditation to Mediation Institute from another Recognised Accreditation Provider RAP.

Is this the correct form?

Use this form if you are an accredited Mediator AMDRAS (formerly NMAS) through another Recognised Accreditation Provider (RAP) and would like to transfer to Mediation Institute.

If you are CURRENTLY ACCREDITED

  • Request the transfer via this form.
  • Provide the date you were initially granted NMAS / AMDRAS Accreditation.
  • Provide evidence of your current accreditation - this may be your original application or the last renewal you applied for accreditation.
  • Provide the date of your next renewal.
  • Provide the date you would like to transfer from (if it is in the future or as soon as the transfer can be processed)
  • You may also like to inform your current Recognised Accreditation Provider (RAP) that you are transferring your accreditation.

If your renewal is due. 

If you are applying for a transfer from the renewal date (or within the 2-month period of grace after your renewal date) we will need confirmation that you have met the renewal requirements for reaccreditation. 

  •  Confirmation of the number of hours of mediation, co-mediation, FDR or conciliation you have completed in the past 24 months
  • Confirmation that you have participated in 25 hours of relevant professional development

If your NMAS / AMDRAS accreditation has lapsed

If your national accreditation has lapsed, you must confirm that you meet the renewal requirements above or undertake additional training and/or assessment to our satisfaction

What will AMDRAS membership with Mediation Institute cost?

  • The current fee for AMDRAS accreditation and membership is $480 inclusive of GST for 2 years. This is what the fee will be next full renewal. 
  • If you are transferring midterm: 
    • You DO NOT have to pay the AMDRAS fee again. That will remain paid up till your next renewal date.  
    • You will need Mediation Institute Membership which is $190 per year. We'll work out the fee based on $16 per month, worked out on a pro-rata basis to the date of your next AMDRAS Renewal. 
  • If you are also eligible for membership as a FDR Practitioner or FGC Facilitator, it can be included at no extra cost (normally $190 per year)

In order for us to record your years of accreditation prior to the last renewal, we need evidence, e.g., your initial accreditation or a document from your previous accreditation provider with from - to dates.

Transfer Application—AMDRAS Clause 69 (d)(ii) requires evidence of your accreditation by your current RAP.

Please supply a copy of the accreditation application you submitted or, if you have been accredited for more than 24 months, your last renewal application form.

By submitting this application for Mediator Accreditation Practitioner Membership, you authorise Mediation Institute to seek information from any party noted on your application and/or supporting documents or an authorised representative of the AMDRAS Board and/or the Attorney General's Practitioner Registration Department (if relevant).

By authorising Mediation Institute (Mi) to act as your independent complaint handling service you authorise Mi to notify the Attorney-Generals Practitioner Registration Department if a substantiated complaint is made against you that requires disciplinary action and/or to notify them of other changes that may affect your registration as a FDR Practitioner.

We may require additional information to confirm your eligibility if you are not listed on the AG's department register.

Fees

  • The current fee for Mediator Accreditation is $100 + Practitioner Membership $360 for two years  
  • Transfers will be at $16 per month until your  AMDRAS renewal date
  • The COA Assessment Support Package costs $1,200 and is only required if your renewal is due and you don't meet the renewal requirements
